Aladja Grammar School Old Students Hail Waive As Reps Pass Bill Establishing Federal College of Agriculture.
By Henry Ubus.
Members of the Aladja Grammar School Old Students Association have commended the member representing Ughelli North, Ughelli South and Udu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Rev. Francis Ejiroghene Waive, for what they described as his proactive and impactful representation.
The commendation followed the passage by the House of Representatives on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, of Waive’s bill seeking the establishment of the Federal College of Agriculture, Ovwor-Olomu. The bill is expected to proceed to the Senate for concurrence before it can be transmitted for presidential assent.
Speaking with newsmen on behalf of the association, the National President, Engr. Andrew Okrakene, described the development as another milestone in Waive’s legislative achievements, noting that the proposed institution would expand access to agricultural education, create employment opportunities and promote socio-economic development in the constituency.
Okrakene called on the people of Udu, Ughelli North and Ughelli South Federal Constituency to reward the lawmaker with overwhelming support in the 2027 general elections, saying his performance had demonstrated a commitment to delivering democratic dividends.
He recalled that Waive also sponsored the bill that led to the establishment of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Ovwian in Udu Local Government Area, describing the health institution as one of the lawmaker’s landmark achievements.
According to him, the federal legislator has continued to make the old students and the entire Aladja community proud through his developmental initiatives, including the fencing of Aladja Grammar School and the execution of several other constituency projects.
The association expressed confidence that Waive would continue to attract more federal projects to the constituency, while urging residents to remain supportive of his legislative efforts aimed at improving the welfare of the people.
